The Garga-samhita Verse 8.10.5, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. सहस्र-वदनो देवो
भगवान् भुवनेश्वरह्
न दानैर् न च तीर्थैश् च
भक्त्या लभ्यस् त्व् अनन्यया

sahasra-vadano devo
bhagavān bhuvaneśvarah
na dānair na ca tīrthaiś ca
bhaktyā labhyas tv ananyayā

sahasra-vadanah—who has a thousand heads; devah—the Lord; bhagavānthe Supreme Personality of Godhead; bhuvaneśvarah—the master of the worlds; na—not; danaih—by charity; na—not; ca—and; tīrthaih—by pilgrimages; ca—and; bhaktyā—by devotional service; labhyah—attainable; tv—indeed; ananyayā—without anything else.

English translation of verse 8.10.5:

Lord Balarāma, who is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the master of the worlds, and who is also thousand-headed Lord Ananta, is not attained by giving charity or going on pilgrimage. He is attained only by devotional service.
