The Garga-samhita Verse 6.17.27, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 6 of Chapter 17 (Shri Shri Radha and Krishna Meet at Siddhashrama and the Nature of Shri Radha’s Love Is Revealed) of Canto 6 (dvaraka-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

तेन निद्रा नयनयोर्
न जातस्य महा-मते
तस्मान् ममापि प्रस्वापो
न जातो भीष्म-कन्यके

tena nidrā nayanayor
na jātasya mahā-mate
tasmān mamāpi prasvāpo
na jāto bhīṣma-kanyake

tena—because of that; nidrāsleep; nayanayoḥ—of the eyes; na—not; jātasya—come; mahā-mate—O noble-hearted one; tasmān—therefore; mama—of me; api—also; prasvāpaḥ—sleep; na—not; jātaḥ—come; bhīṣma-kanyake—O daughter of King Bhīṣmaka.

English translation of verse 6.17.27:

For that reason, O noble-hearted girl, sleep has not come to Her eyes. O daughter of King Bhīṣmaka, because She cannot sleep, I cannot sleep.
