तत्-तेजसा हत-रुचः
सूर्यात् तारा-गणा यथा
गत-रूपाभिमानास् ता
ऊचुः सर्वाः परस्परम्
tat-tejasā hata-rucaḥ
sūryāt tārā-gaṇā yathā
gata-rūpābhimānās tā
ūcuḥ sarvāḥ parasparam
tat-tejasā—by Her glory; hata-rucaḥ—their glory was eclipsed; sūryāt—from the sun; tārā-gaṇā—the stars; yathā—as; gata—gone; rūpa—of the beauty; abhimānāḥ—pride; tāḥ—they; ūcuḥ—said; sarvāḥ—all; parasparam—among themselves.
English translation of verse 6.16.42:
As the sun makes the many stars seem insignificant so Śrī Rādhā's beauty made the queens' beauty seem insignifant. Their pride in their own beauty now crushed, the queens said among themselves:
