श्री-व्यास उवाच
सूक्ष्मा गतिर् महा-राज
विदिता पाप-पुण्ययोः
तथा ब्रह्म-गतिः प्राज्ञैः
सर्व-शास्त्र-विदां वरैः
śrī-vyāsa uvāca
sūkṣmā gatir mahā-rāja
viditā pāpa-puṇyayoḥ
tathā brahma-gatiḥ prājñaiḥ
sarva-śāstra-vidāṃ varaiḥ
śrī-vyāsa uvāca—Śrī Vyāsadeva said; sūkṣmā—suble; gatiḥ—movement; mahā-rāja—O great king; viditā—understood; pāpa—of sin; puṇyayoḥ—and piety; tathā—so; brahma-gatiḥ—spiritual activities; prājñaiḥ—by the wise; sarva-śāstra—all scriptures; vidām—of they who know; varaiḥ—by the best.
English translation of verse 6.15.39:
Śrī Vyāsadeva said: O great king, the intelligent sages, who have studied all the scriptures, know that the ways of piety, sin, and spiritual progress are very subtle and difficult to understand.
