तथा वन-मृगानां च
कृत्वा हत्याः सहस्रशः
तस्माद् अयं महा-पापी
देवता-द्विज-निन्दकः
tathā vana-mṛgānāṃ ca
kṛtvā hatyāḥ sahasraśaḥ
tasmād ayaṃ mahā-pāpī
devatā-dvija-nindakaḥ
tathā—so; vana-mṛgānām—of animals in the forest; ca—and; kṛtvā—doing; hatyāḥ—killing; sahasraśaḥ—thousands; tasmāt—from that; ayam—he; mahā-pāpī—a great sinner; devatā—the demigods; dvija—andf the brāhmaṇas; nindakaḥ—offending.
English translation of verse 6.15.31:
He killed thousands of deer in the forest. He offended the demigods and the brāhmaṇas. He is a great sinner.
