The Garga-samhita Verse 6.15.17, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. महा-नदीनां स्नानस्य
पुण्यं तस्य दिने दिनेगोपी-चन्दन-मूद्राभिर्
मूद्रितो यः सदा भवेत्

mahā-nadīnāṃ snānasya
puṇyaṃ tasya dine dinegopī-candana-mūdrābhir
mūdrito yaḥ sadā bhavet

mahā-nadīnām—of great sacred rivers; snānasya—of bathing; puṇyam—the pious result; tasya—of that; dine—day; dine—after day; gopī-candanaof gopī-candana; mūdrābhiḥ—by marking; mūdritaḥ—marked; yaḥ—who; sadāalways; bhavet—is.

English translation of verse 6.15.17:

A person who daily wears gopī-candana tilaka attains the pious result of daily bathing in all sacred rivers.
