कपिटङ्कं नाम तीर्थं
कपि-पात-समुद्भवम्
गिरौ रैवतके राजन्
सर्व-पाप-प्रणाशनम्
kapiṭaṅkaṃ nāma tīrthaṃ
kapi-pāta-samudbhavam
girau raivatake rājan
sarva-pāpa-praṇāśanam
kapiṭaṅkam—Kapiṭaṅka; nāma—named; tīrtham—tirtha; kapi—of a monkey; pāta—from the jumping; samudbhavam—manifested; girau—on the mountain; raivatake—Raivata; rājan—O king; sarva-pāpa-praṇāśanam—destroying all sins.
English translation of verse 6.15.2:
O king, this holy place, which destroys all sins, was named Kapiṭaṅka because it was created by the jumping of a gorilla (kapi).
