The Garga-samhita Verses 6.14.19-20, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. श्री-शैलः पुत्र-मोहेन
निर्भर्त्स्येति क्व यासि हि
सुमेरुं गिरि-राजं च
हिमवन्तं नगेश्वरम्
श्री-शैलः प्राह धर्मात्मा
पुत्र-स्नेह-समाकुलः
एको दैवेन दत्तो ऽयं
न पुत्रा बहवश् च मे
śrī-śailaḥ putra-mohena
nirbhartsyeti kva yāsi hi
sumeruṃ giri-rājaṃ ca
himavantaṃ nageśvaram
śrī-śailaḥ prāha dharmātmā
putra-sneha-samākulaḥ
eko daivena datto 'yaṃ
na putrā bahavaś ca me
śrī-śailaḥ—Mount Śaila; putra-mohena—bewildered with love for his son; nirbhartsya—rebuking; iti—thus; kva—where; yāsi—will you go; hi—indeed; sumerum—to Mount Sumeru; giri-rājam—the king of mountains; ca—and; himavantam—to the Himalayas; nageśvaram—the king of mountains; śrī-śailaḥ— Mount Śaila; prāha—said; dharmātmā—pious; putra-sneha-samākulaḥ—overcome with love; ekaḥ—one; daivena—by fate; dattaḥ—given; ayam—he; na—not; putrāḥ—sons; bahavaḥ—many; ca—and; me—of me.
English translation of verses 6.14.19-20:
Overcome with love for his son, Mount Śaila rebuked him, "Where will you go?" Then Mount Śaila went to regal Mount Sumeru and regal Mount Himālaya and, overcome with love for his son, said to them, "Destiny has given me only one son. I do not have many sons.
