तं द्रश्टुम् आगतः साक्शाद्
अपान्तरतमो मुनिः
नोच्चचालासनात् सो ऽपि
मेधावी तपसोत्कटः
taṃ draśṭum āgataḥ sākśād
apāntaratamo muniḥ
noccacālāsanāt so 'pi
medhāvī tapasotkaṭaḥ
tam—him; draśṭum—to see; āgataḥ—came; sākśāt—directly; apāntaratamo muniḥ—Apāntaratama Muni; na—not; uccacāla—rose; āsanāt—from the seat; so 'pi—he; medhāvī—Medhāvī; tapasā—on austerities; utkaṭaḥ—intent.
English translation of verse 6.14.8:
One day Apāntaratama Muni came to see him. Rapt in performing austerities, Medhāvī did not rise from his seat to greet him.
