गौतमस्य सुतो धीमान्
मेधावी नाम वैश्णषः
विन्ध्याचले तपस् तेपे
वर्शानाम् अयुतं शतम्
gautamasya suto dhīmān
medhāvī nāma vaiśṇaṣaḥ
vindhyācale tapas tepe
varśānām ayutaṃ śatam
gautamasya—of Gautama Muni; sutaḥ—son; dhīmān—intelligent; medhāvī— Madhāvī; nāma—named; vaiśṇaṣaḥ— adevotee of Lord Viṣṇu; vindhyācale—in the Vindyā mountains; tapaḥ—austerities; tepe—performed; varśānām—years; ayutam—ten thousand; śatam—a hundred.
English translation of verse 6.14.7:
There was a Vaiśṇṣva named Medhāvī, who was very intelligent and was the son of Gautama Muni. For one million years he performed austerities in the Vindyā mountains.
