त्यक्त्वा भार्यां स भिन्नो ऽभूद्
धनाढ्यो दुर्मतिः खलः
वेश्या-प्रसण्गात् तस्यापि
धनार्धं प्रक्शयं गतम्
tyaktvā bhāryāṃ sa bhinno 'bhūd
dhanāḍhyo durmatiḥ khalaḥ
veśyā-prasaṇgāt tasyāpi
dhanārdhaṃ prakśayaṃ gatam
tyaktvā—rejecting; bhāryām—his wife; sa—he; bhinnaḥ—broken; abhūt— became; dhanāḍhyaḥ—wealthy; durmatiḥ—evil-minded; khalaḥ—rogue; veśyā- prasaṇgāt—from attachment to prostitutes; tasya—of him; api——also; dhana—of his wealth; ardham—half; prakśayam—destroyed; gatam—gone.
English translation of verse 6.13.19:
This wicked, evil-hearted, and very wealthy person left his wife. By again and again visiting prostitutes he lost half his wealth.
