The Garga-samhita Verse 6.13.19, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 6 of Chapter 13 (The Glories of Prabhasa-tirtha, the Sarasvati River, Bodha-pippala, and the Place Where the Gomati River Meets the Ocean) of Canto 6 (dvaraka-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

त्यक्त्वा भार्यां स भिन्नो ऽभूद्
धनाढ्यो दुर्मतिः खलः
वेश्या-प्रसण्गात् तस्यापि
धनार्धं प्रक्शयं गतम्

tyaktvā bhāryāṃ sa bhinno 'bhūd
dhanāḍhyo durmatiḥ khalaḥ
veśyā-prasaṇgāt tasyāpi
dhanārdhaṃ prakśayaṃ gatam

tyaktvārejecting; bhāryām—his wife; sa—he; bhinnaḥbroken; abhūt— became; dhanāḍhyaḥ—wealthy; durmatiḥevil-minded; khalaḥrogue; veśyā- prasaṇgāt—from attachment to prostitutes; tasya—of him; api——also; dhanaof his wealth; ardham—half; prakśayam—destroyed; gatam—gone.

English translation of verse 6.13.19:

This wicked, evil-hearted, and very wealthy person left his wife. By again and again visiting prostitutes he lost half his wealth.
