तत्-पादयोर् निपतितः
पाहि माम् इत्य् उवाच ह
शीघ्रं शान्तस् त्रितः प्राह
दुर्मते किं कृतं त्वया
स्तेय-दोशाद् भुण्क्श्व पापं
मद्-वचो नो मृशा भवेत्
tat-pādayor nipatitaḥ
pāhi mām ity uvāca ha
śīghraṃ śāntas tritaḥ prāha
durmate kiṃ kṛtaṃ tvayā
steya-dośād bhuṇkśva pāpaṃ
mad-vaco no mṛśā bhavet
tat—of him; pādayoḥ—at the feet; nipatitaḥ—fallen; pāhi—save; mām—me; ity—thsu; uvāca—said; ha—indeed; śīghram—quickly; śāntaḥ—pacified; tritaḥ— Trita; prāha—said; durmate—fool; kim—what?; kṛtam—done; tvayā—by you; steya-dośāt—by the sin of theft; bhuṇkśva—experience; pāpam—the sin; mad- vacaḥ—my word; naḥ—not; mṛśā—false; bhavet—will be.
English translation of verse 6.10.6:
Kakśivān fell at Trita's feet and begged, "Save me!" Trita was at once pacified.
Still, he said, "Fool, what have you done? Because you have stolen, now you must suffer the sinful reaction. My words will not go in vain."
