महान् ग्राहो ऽपि तत्र-स्थो
बलीयान् दैव-नोदितः
अग्रहीच् चरणे नागं
क्रोध-पूरित-विग्रहः
mahān grāho 'pi tatra-stho
balīyān daiva-noditaḥ
agrahīc caraṇe nāgaṃ
krodha-pūrita-vigrahaḥ
mahān—a great; grāhaḥ—crocodile; api—also; tatra-sthaḥ—staying there; balīyān—powerful; daiva-noditaḥ—sent by fate; agrahīt—grabbed; caraṇe—on the foot; nāgam—the elephant; krodha-pūrita-vigrahaḥ—filled with anger.

Sent by fate, a powerful and angry crocodile grabbed the elephant's foot.
