The Garga-samhita Verse 6.8.23, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 6 of Chapter 8 (The Marriages of All the Queens) of Canto 6 (dvaraka-khanda).

रुक्मिण्यां भीष्म-कन्यायां
प्रद्युम्नः प्रथमो ऽभवत्
कामदेवावतारो ऽयं
पितृवत्-सर्व-लक्षणः

rukmiṇyāṃ bhīṣma-kanyāyāṃ
pradyumnaḥ prathamo 'bhavat
kāmadevāvatāro 'yaṃ
pitṛvat-sarva-lakṣaṇaḥ

rukmiṇyām—in Rukmiṇī; bhīṣma-kanyāyām—the daughter of Bhjismaka; pradyumnaḥPradyumna; prathamaḥ—the first; abhavat—was; kāmadeva-avatāraḥ—an incarnation of Kāmadeva; ayamwho; pitṛhis father; vat—like; sarvaall; lakṣaṇaḥ—the qualities.

English translation of verse 6.8.23:

From Rukmiṇī was born the first son, Pradyumna, who had all the transcendental qualities of His father, and who was an incarnation of Kāmadeva.
