आवन्त्य-राज-तनुजां
मित्रविन्दां मनोहराम्
स्वयम्वरे तां जहार
भगवान् रुक्मिणीं यथा

āvantya-rāja-tanujāṃ
mitravindāṃ manoharām
svayamvare tāṃ jahāra
bhagavān rukmiṇīṃ yathā

āvantya-rāja-tanujām—the daughter of the king of Avanti-pura; mitravindām—Mitravindā; manoharām—beautiful; svayamvare—in the svayamvara; tām—her; jahāra—took; bhagavānthe Lord; rukmiṇīm—Rukmiṇī; yathā—as.

English translation of verse 6.8.16:

Then, as He had kidnapped Rukmiṇī, Lord Kṛṣṇa kidnapped beautiful Mitravindā, the princess of Avantya-deśa, at the time of her svayamvara.
