सिंहेन मारितः सो ऽपि
सिंहो जाम्बवता हतः
गृहीत्वा तं मणिं सद्यो
जाम्बवान् स्व-गुहां गतः
siṃhena māritaḥ so 'pi
siṃho jāmbavatā hataḥ
gṛhītvā taṃ maṇiṃ sadyo
jāmbavān sva-guhāṃ gataḥ
siṃhena—by a lion; māritaḥ—killed; saḥ—he; api—also; siṃhaḥ—the lion; jāmbavatā—by Jāmbavān; hataḥ—killed; gṛhītvā—taking; tam—it; maṇim—the jewel; sadyaḥ—at once; jāmbavān—Jāmbavān; sva-guhām—to his cave; gataḥ—went.
English translation of verse 6.8.5:
A lion killed Prasena. Then Jāmbavān killed the lion and took the jewel to his cave.
