अन्यासां कृष्ण-पत्नीनां
मङ्गलं शृणु मैथिल
सर्व-पाप-हरं पुण्यं
आयुर्-वर्धनम् उत्तमम्

anyāsāṃ kṛṣṇa-patnīnāṃ
maṅgalaṃ śṛṇu maithila
sarva-pāpa-haraṃ puṇyaṃ
āyur-vardhanam uttamam

anyāsām—of the other; kṛṣṇa-patnīnām—wives of Lord Kṛṣṇa; maṅgalam—auspicious; śṛṇu—please hear; maithilaO king of Mithila; sarvaall; pāpasins; haram—removing; puṇyam—sacred; āyur-vardhanamincreasing the span of life; uttamam—transcendental.

English translation of verse 6.8.1:

O king of Mithilā, please hear the auspicious story of Lord Kṛṣṇa's other queens, a sacred story that removes all sins and increases the span of one's life.
