The Garga-samhita Verse 6.7.22, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:
सन्ताडितो ऽपि भगवान्
मालाहत इव द्विपः
तेनैव परिघेनापि
तं जघान रणाङ्गने
santāḍito 'pi bhagavān
mālāhata iva dvipaḥ
tenaiva parighenāpi
taṃ jaghāna raṇāṅgane
santāḍitaḥ—hit; api—although; bhagavān—the Lord; mālā—by a flower garland; hata—hit; iva—like; dvipaḥ—an elephant; tena—by that; eva—indeed; parighena—arogha; api—also; tam—him; jaghāna—hit; raṇāṅgane—in the battlefield.
English translation of verse 6.7.22:
Lord Kṛṣṇa felt that blow as an elephant feels being hit with a flower garland.
Then Lord Kṛṣṇa picked up that parigha and hit Rukmī with it.
