The Garga-samhita Verse 6.7.1, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 6 of Chapter 7 (The Marriage of Shri Rukmini) of Canto 6 (dvaraka-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

श्री-नारद उवाच
रुक्मिण्या हरणं श्रुत्वा
मित्राणां च पराभवम्
प्रतिज्ञाम् अकरोद् रुक्मी
शृण्वतं सर्व-भुभुजाम्

śrī-nārada uvāca
rukmiṇyā haraṇaṃ śrutvā
mitrāṇāṃ ca parābhavam
pratijñām akarod rukmī
śṛṇvataṃ sarva-bhubhujām

śrī-nārada uvāca—Śrī Nārada said; rukmiṇyā—of Rukmiṇī; haraṇam—the kidnapping; śrutvāhearing; mitrāṇām—of friends; ca—and; parābhavam—the defeat; pratijñām—a vow; akarot—did; rukmīRukmi; śṛṇvatām—hearing; sarva-bhubhujām—of all the kings.

English translation of verse 6.7.1:

Śrī Nārada said: Hearing that Rukmiṇī was kidnapped and his friends were all defeated, Rukmī, as all the kings listened, spoke the following vow:
