The Garga-samhita Verse 6.6.15, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 6 of Chapter 6 (The Yadavas’ Victory When Shri Rukmini is Kidnapped) of Canto 6 (dvaraka-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

अहो धिग् अस्मान् स्व-यशो
हृतं गोपैश् च धन्विनाम्
शृगालैर् इव सिंहानां
अतः किं स्यात् पराजयः

aho dhig asmān sva-yaśo
hṛtaṃ gopaiś ca dhanvinām
śṛgālair iva siṃhānāṃ
ataḥ kiṃ syāt parājayaḥ

ahaḥ—ah; dhig—fie; asmān—on them; sva-yaśaḥtheir honor; hṛtam—removed; gopaiś—by gopas; ca—and; dhanvinām—bowmen; śṛgālaiḥ—by jackals; iva—like; siṃhānām—of lions; ataḥ—then; kim—what?; syāt—is; parājayaḥ—defeat.

English translation of verse 6.6.15:

"As jackals defeating a host of lions, these cowherd men have robbed the honor of us noble bowmen!"
