The Garga-samhita Verse 6.6.14, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 6 of Chapter 6 (The Yadavas’ Victory When Shri Rukmini is Kidnapped) of Canto 6 (dvaraka-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

जरासन्ध-वशाः सर्वे
मानिनो नृप-सत्तमाः
न सेहिरे स्वाभिभवं
परं जातं यशः-क्षयम्

jarāsandha-vaśāḥ sarve
mānino nṛpa-sattamāḥ
na sehire svābhibhavaṃ
paraṃ jātaṃ yaśaḥ-kṣayam

jarāsandha-vaśāḥthe vassals of Jarasandha; sarve—all; māninaḥ—proud; nṛpa-sattamāḥ—great kings; na—not; sehire—tolerated; svābhibhavam—their own defeat; param—great; jātam—manifested; yaśaḥ-kṣayam—the loss of their fame.

English translation of verse 6.6.14:

The arrogant kings, all of them vassals of Jarāsandha, could not tolerate their ignominious defeat in this way.
