यदूत्तमो देव-वरो ममैष
दृष्ट्वा हि किञ्चित् कलुषं विधातः
कृतोद्यमो नूनम् अतीव हस्त-
ग्राहे न चागच्छति किं करोमि
yadūttamo deva-varo mamaiṣa
dṛṣṭvā hi kiñcit kaluṣaṃ vidhātaḥ
kṛtodyamo nūnam atīva hasta-
grāhe na cāgacchati kiṃ karomi
yadūttamaḥ—the best of the Yādavas; deva-varaḥ—the master of the demigods; mama—of me; eṣa—He; dṛṣṭvā—having seen; hi—indeed; kiñcit—something; kaluṣam—impurity; vidhātaḥ—placed; kṛta—done; udyamaḥ—effort; nūnam—indeed; atīva—greatly; hasta—by the hand; grāhe—grasped; na—not; ca—and; āgacchati—comes; kim—what?; karomi—shall I do.
English translation of verse 6.5.3:
Perhaps Lord Kṛṣṇa, the master of the demigods and the best of the Yādavas, looks at me and sees that I am sinful and impure. Perhaps that is why He has not come to take my hand.
