अधो-मुखा ऊर्ध्व-मुखास्
छिन्न-देहा नृपात्मजाः
रेजू रणाङ्गने राजन्
भाण्ड-व्यूहा इवाहताः
adho-mukhā ūrdhva-mukhās
chinna-dehā nṛpātmajāḥ
rejū raṇāṅgane rājan
bhāṇḍa-vyūhā ivāhatāḥ
adho-mukhāḥ—faces down; ūrdhva-mukhāḥ—faces up; chinna-dehā—broken bodies; nṛpātmajāḥ—princes; rejū—shone; raṇāṅgane—in the batllefield; rājan—O king; bhāṇḍa-vyūhā—pots; iva—like; āhatāḥ—broken.
English translation of verse 6.1.25:
O king, their faces up or down and their bodies broken, the princes littered the battlefield like so many broken earthen pots.
