द्विध-भूता गजा बाणैस्
चलिता गजिभिः सह
साश्व-वाहास् तथास्वाश् च
बाणैः सञ्छिन्न-कन्धराः
dvidha-bhūtā gajā bāṇais
calitā gajibhiḥ saha
sāśva-vāhās tathāsvāś ca
bāṇaiḥ sañchinna-kandharāḥ
dvidha-bhūtā—cut in half; gajā—the elephants; bāṇaiḥ—by arrows; calitā—moving; gajibhiḥ—with elephant riders; saha—with; sāśva—with horses; vāhāḥ—riding; tathā—so; asvāḥ—horses; ca—and; bāṇaiḥ—with arrows; sañchinna—severed; kandharāḥ—necks.
English translation of verse 6.1.23:
The many arrows cut the elephants and their riders into two pieces and severed the heads of the horses and horsemen.
