तदैव बधिरी-भूतं
शत्रूणां सैन्य-मण्डलम्
उत्पतन्तो हाय युद्धाद्
गजास् तु विमुखास् ततः

tadaiva badhirī-bhūtaṃ
śatrūṇāṃ sainya-maṇḍalam
utpatanto hāya yuddhād
gajās tu vimukhās tataḥ

tadāthen; eva—indeed; badhirī-bhūtam—deafened; śatrūṇām—of enemies; sainya-maṇḍalam—the circle of the armies; utpatantaḥ—jumping; hāyahorses; yuddhāt—from the battle; gajāḥ—elephants; tu—indeed; vimukhāḥ—turned away; tataḥ—then.

English translation of verse 6.1.19:

Then there was a deafening noise in the circle of the enemy armies, and the horses and elephants fled the battlefield.
