The Garga-samhita Verse 5.24.27, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 5 of Chapter 24 (The Killing of the Kola Demon) of Canto 5 (mathura-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

तद्-गदायाः प्रहारेण
न चचाल यदूद्वहः
पश्यतां सर्व-लोकानां
स्रजा हत इव द्विपः

tad-gadāyāḥ prahāreṇa
na cacāla yadūdvahaḥ
paśyatāṃ sarva-lokānāṃ
srajā hata iva dvipaḥ

tad-gadāyāḥ—of the club; prahāreṇa—by the blow; na—not; cacāla—wavered; yadūdvahaḥBalarāma; paśyatām—looking; sarva-lokānām—all the people; srajā—by a garland; hatahit; iva—like; dvipaḥ—an elephant.

English translation of verse 5.24.27:

As everyone could see the blow of the club had no effect on Lord Balarāma. He stood like an elephant struck by a flower garland.
