The Garga-samhita Verse 5.24.23, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 5 of Chapter 24 (The Killing of the Kola Demon) of Canto 5 (mathura-khanda).

मुसलस्य प्रहारेण
विशीर्णो ऽभून् महा-गजः
मृद्-घातो नैकधैवाशु
दण्ड-घातेन मैथिल

musalasya prahāreṇa
viśīrṇo 'bhūn mahā-gajaḥ
mṛd-ghāto naikadhaivāśu
daṇḍa-ghātena maithila

musalasya—of the club; prahāreṇa—by the blow; viśīrṇaḥshattered; abhūt—became; mahā-gajaḥthe great elephant; mṛd-ghātaḥ—a clay pot; na—not; ekadhā—one; eva—indeed; āśu—at once; daṇḍa-ghātena—by the blow of a stick; maithilaO king of Mithilā.

English translation of verse 5.24.23:

O king of Mithilā, the elephant was shattered by the blow from Lord Balarāma's club as a small clay pot is shattered by a stick.
