The Garga-samhita Verses 5.24.15-16, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 5 of Chapter 24 (The Killing of the Kola Demon) of Canto 5 (mathura-khanda).

चञ्चलाश्व-तरङ्गाढ्यं
रथेभाश्व-तिमिङ्गिलम्
नदीम् इवागतां सेनां
प्रलयार्णव-नादिनीम्
वीरावर्तां च तां वीक्ष्य
बद्ध्वा सेतुं हलं बलः
आकृष्य तं तद्-अग्रेण
मुसलेनाहनद् दृढम्

cañcalāśva-taraṅgāḍhyaṃ
rathebhāśva-timiṅgilam
nadīm ivāgatāṃ senāṃ
pralayārṇava-nādinīm
vīrāvartāṃ ca tāṃ vīkṣya
baddhvā setuṃ halaṃ balaḥ
ākṛṣya taṃ tad-agreṇa
musalenāhanad dṛḍham

cañcalarestless; aśvahorses; taraṅgawaves; āḍhyam—opulent; rathachariots; ibhaelephants; aśva—horses; timiṅgilam—timingila fish; nadīm—river; iva—like; āgatām—arrived; senām—army; pralayaof devastation; arṇavathe ocean; nādinīm—roaring; vīraof warriors; āvartāṃwhirlpools; ca—and; tām—that; vīkṣyaseeing; baddhvā—binding; setum—a bridge; halam—strong; balaḥBalarāma; ākṛṣyapulling; tam—that; tad-agreṇa—by the tip; musalena—by His club; ahanat—struck; dṛḍham—hard.

English translation of verses 5.24.15-16:

Lord Balarāma gazed at Kola's army, which was like a great river filled with waves of restless horses, timiṅgila fish of chariots, elephants, and horses, whirlpools of ferocious soldiers, and tumultuous roaring like a great ocean of destruction. Then the Lord, in order to make a bridge to cross this river of soldiers, began striking it with His club.
