वन्दे सदाहं कलहंस उद्गते
चलत्-पदे चञ्चल-चञ्चु-सम्पुटे
निर्धौत-मुक्ता-फल-हार-सञ्चयां
सन्धारयन्तीं शुभगां सरस्वतीम्
vande sadāhaṃ kalahaṃsa udgate
calat-pade cañcala-cañcu-sampuṭe
nirdhauta-muktā-phala-hāra-sañcayāṃ
sandhārayantīṃ śubhagāṃ sarasvatīm
vande—I bow down; sadā—always; aham—I; kalahaṃsa—swan; udgate—risen; calat-pade—moving feet; cañcala—moving; cañcu-sampuṭe—in the beak; nirdhauta-muktā-phala—of splendid pearls; hāra—necklaces; sacayām—host; sandhārayantīm—wearing; śubhagām—beautiful; sarasvatīm—Sarasvatī.
English translation of verse 5.21.42:
Again and again I offer my respectful obeisances to beautiful Goddess Sarasvatī, who wears a necklace of pearls splendid as a host of flying swans with restless feet and beaks.
