दिव्य-वर्ष-शतं शश्वत्
तपस् तेपे सु-दुष्करं
निरन्नं निर्जलं वाणी-
ध्यान-युक्तं व्रजेश्वरि
divya-varṣa-śataṃ śaśvat
tapas tepe su-duṣkaraṃ
nirannaṃ nirjalaṃ vāṇī-
dhyāna-yuktaṃ vrajeśvari
divya—celestial; varṣa—years; śatam—a hundred; śaśvat—continually; tapaḥ—austerities; tepe—performed; su-duṣkaram—difficult; nirannam—withotu food; nirjalam—without water; vāṇī—on Goddess sarasvatī; dhyāna-yuktam—meditating; vrajeśvari—O queen of Vraja.
English translation of verse 5.21.37:
O queen of Vraja, for one hundred celestial years Nārada performed austeries.
Fasting from food and water, he meditated on Goddess Sarasvatī.
