इति श्रुत्वाथ तद्-वाक्यं
नारदो विस्मितो ऽभवत्
उवाच गत-मानो ऽसौ
रागान् परिहसन्न् इव

iti śrutvātha tad-vākyaṃ
nārado vismito 'bhavat
uvāca gata-māno 'sau
rāgān parihasann iva

iti—thus; śrutvāhearing; athathen; tad-vākyam—their words; nāradaḥNārada; vismitaḥ—astonished; abhavat—became; uvāca—said; gatagone; mānaḥ—pride; asau—he; rāgān—to the rāgas; parihasann—smiling; iva—as if.

English translation of verse 5.21.33:

Hearing these words, Nārada became astonished. Humbled, and trying to smile, he spoke.
