मार्तण्ड उदयं प्राप्ते
नत्वा गोपीं यशोमतीम्
नन्द-राजम् अनुज्ञाप्य
नव-नन्दांस् तदोद्धवः
mārtaṇḍa udayaṃ prāpte
natvā gopīṃ yaśomatīm
nanda-rājam anujñāpya
nava-nandāṃs tadoddhavaḥ
mārtaṇḍa—the sun; udayam—rising; prāpte—attained; natvā—bowing; gopīm—to the gopī; yaśomatīm—Yaśodā; nanda-rājam—to King Nanda; anujñāpya—taking permission; nava-nandān—the nine Nandas; tadā—then; uddhavaḥ—Uddhava.
English translation of verse 5.18.26:
As the sun rose, uddhava bowed down before the gopī Yaśoda, King Nanda, and the nine Nandas. Then Uddhava asked for permission to depart.
