The Garga-samhita Verse 5.18.19, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 5 of Chapter 18 (Uddhava Hears the Gopis’ Words and Returns to Mathura) of Canto 5 (mathura-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

श्री-नारद उवाच
अथ राधा लेखनीं च
नीत्वा पत्रं मषेस् त्वरं
समाचारं चिन्तयन्ति
तावद् अश्रूनि सुश्रुवुः

śrī-nārada uvāca
atha rādhā lekhanīṃ ca
nītvā patraṃ maṣes tvaraṃ
samācāraṃ cintayanti
tāvad aśrūni suśruvuḥ

śrī-nārada uvāca—Śrī Nārada said; athathen; rādhāRādhā; lekhanīm—a pen; ca—and; nītvā—bringing; patram—a cup; maṣeḥ—of ink; tvaram—at once; samācāram—activity; cintayantithinking; tāvat—then; aśrūni—tears; suśruvuḥ—flowed.

English translation of verse 5.18.19:

Śrī Nārada said: Then Rādhā took a pen and a jar of ink. As She thought of what to write, tears flowed from Her eyes.
