श्री-अप्सर ऊचुः
अस्य प्रीत्या कर्ण-नासे
गते वै रावण-स्वसुः
त्यजन्तु वार्तां तेनापि
śrī-apsara ūcuḥ
asya prītyā karṇa-nāse
gate vai rāvaṇa-svasuḥ
tyajantu vārtāṃ tenāpi
भवतीनां कृपा कृता
bhavatīnāṃ kṛpā kṛtā
śrī-apsara ūcuḥ—te gopīs that had been apsarās said; asya—of Him; pritya—with love; karṇa-nāse—ears and nose; gate—gone; vai—indeed; rāvaṇa-svasuḥ—Surpanakha; tyajantu—may abanond; vārtām—news; tena—by Him; api—also; bhavatīnām—of you all; kṛpā—mercy; kṛtā—done.
English translation of verse 5.18.5:
The gopīs that had been apsarās said: Śūrpaṇakhā lovingly approached Him and He responded by cutting off her ears and nose. Kṛṣṇa is not kind.
