The Garga-samhita Verse 5.18.5, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 5 of Chapter 18 (Uddhava Hears the Gopis’ Words and Returns to Mathura) of Canto 5 (mathura-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

श्री-अप्सर ऊचुः
अस्य प्रीत्या कर्ण-नासे
गते वै रावण-स्वसुः
त्यजन्तु वार्तां तेनापि

śrī-apsara ūcuḥ
asya prītyā karṇa-nāse
gate vai rāvaṇa-svasuḥ
tyajantu vārtāṃ tenāpi

भवतीनां कृपा कृता

bhavatīnāṃ kṛpā kṛtā

śrī-apsara ūcuḥ—te gopīs that had been apsarās said; asyaof Him; pritya—with love; karṇa-nāse—ears and nose; gate—gone; vai—indeed; rāvaṇa-svasuḥ—Surpanakha; tyajantu—may abanond; vārtām—news; tena—by Him; api—also; bhavatīnām—of you all; kṛpāmercy; kṛtādone.

English translation of verse 5.18.5:

The gopīs that had been apsarās said: Śūrpaṇakhā lovingly approached Him and He responded by cutting off her ears and nose. Kṛṣṇa is not kind.
