The Garga-samhita Verse 5.17.36, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 5 of Chapter 17 (The Gopis Describe Their Remembrance of Sri Krsna) of Canto 5 (mathura-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

स्रि-जलन्धर्य उचुह् पुरति-कस्तम् प्रगते ऽसुरोत्तमे कयधवे भक्त-वरे ततो ह्य् अयम् भुत्व न्र्सिम्हह् क्र्तवन् सहयम् अहो पर निस्थुरत प्रद्र्च्यते स्रि-जलन्धर्य

sri-jalandharya ucuh purati-kastam pragate 'surottame kayadhave bhakta-vare tato hy ayam bhutva nrsimhah krtavan sahayam aho para nisthurata pradrcyate sri-jalandharya

ucuh—the gopis that had been Jalandharis said; purapreviously; ati-kastam—great calamity; pragate—attained; asurottame—the great demon; kayadhave—to Prahlada; bhakta-vare—the great devotee; tatah—then; hi—indeed; ayamHe; bhutva—becoming; nrsimhah—Nrsimha; krtavan—did; sahayam—help; ahah—Oh; para—great; nisthurata—cruelty; pradrcyate—is seen.

English translation of verse 5.17.36:

The gopis that had been Jalandharis said: When the great demon Hiranyakacipu tortured the great devotee Prahlada, Krsna appeared as Nrsimha, saved Prahlada, and was very cruel to Hiranyakacipu.
