The Garga-samhita Verse 5.17.32, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 5 of Chapter 17 (The Gopis Describe Their Remembrance of Sri Krsna) of Canto 5 (mathura-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

स्रि-कौचल उचुह् न को ऽपि जनति वियोग-जम् दसम् जिवम् विन वक्तुम् अलम् न सपि हि भुयद् उरो-बन-भिन्नम् अरन् मभुत् कदपि प्रिय-विप्रयोजनम् स्रि-कौचल

sri-kaucala ucuh na ko 'pi janati viyoga-jam dasam jivam vina vaktum alam na sapi hi bhuyad uro-bana-bhinnam aran mabhut kadapi priya-viprayojanam sri-kaucala

ucuh—the gopis that had been women of Kocala said; na—not; ko 'pi—anyone; janati—knows; viyoga-jam—born of separation; dasam—condition; jivam—life; vinawithout; vaktum—to speak; alamgreatly; na—no; sapi—any woman; hi—indeed; bhuyat—may be; uro-bana-bhinnam—her chest pierced by an arrow; arannear; ma—not; abhut—may be; kadapi—ever; priya-viprayojanam -separation from the beloved.

English translation of verse 5.17.32:

The gopis that had been women of Kocala said: Only a person whose heart has been broken by the arrow of separation can understand or describe the sufferings of a lover separated from the beloved.
