The Garga-samhita Verse 5.10.19, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 5 of Chapter 10 (The Stories of the Washerman, Weaver, and Florist) of Canto 5 (mathura-khanda).

विष्णु-भक्ति-रतः शान्तो
दानी सत्-सङ्ग-कृन् महान्
श्री-विष्णुदेव-प्राप्त्य्-अर्थं
देव-पूजां चकार ह

viṣṇu-bhakti-rataḥ śānto
dānī sat-saṅga-kṛn mahān
śrī-viṣṇudeva-prāpty-arthaṃ
deva-pūjāṃ cakāra ha

viṣṇu-bhakti-rataḥdevoted to Lord Viṣṇu; śāntaḥpeaceful; dānīgenerous; sat-saṅga-kṛn—asscoiating with devotees; mahānnoble; śrī-viṣṇudeva-prāpty-arthaṃto attain Lord Viṣṇu; deva-pūjām—the worship of the demigods; cakāradid; ha—indeed.

English translation of verse 5.10.19:

He was peaceful, generous, and devoted to Lord Viṣṇu. He associated with saintly persons. He worshiped Lord Śiva to attain the company of Lord Viṣṇu.
