कु-वाक्य-दोस-शान्त्य्-अर्थं
तं जघान हरिः स्वयम्
तद् अपि प्रददौ मोक्षं
तस्मै श्री-करुणा-निधिः
ku-vākya-dosa-śānty-arthaṃ
taṃ jaghāna hariḥ svayam
tad api pradadau mokṣaṃ
tasmai śrī-karuṇā-nidhiḥ
ku-vākya—of bad words; doṣa—the fault; śānti—peace; artham—for the purpose; tam—him; jaghāna—killed; hariḥ—Kṛṣṇa; svayam—Himself; tat—that; api—also; pradadau—gave; mokṣam—liberation; tasmai—to him; śrī-karuṇā-nidhiḥ—an ocean of mercy.
English translation of verse 5.10.8:
To stop his blasphemy, however, Lord Kṛṣṇa killed him. Then the Lord, who is an ocean of mercy, gave him liberation.
