को ऽयं तु रजकः पूर्वं
अवधीद् यं हरिः कथम्
अहो यस्य महज्-ज्योतिः
कृष्णे लीनं बभूव ह
ko 'yaṃ tu rajakaḥ pūrvaṃ
avadhīd yaṃ hariḥ katham
aho yasya mahaj-jyotiḥ
kṛṣṇe līnaṃ babhūva ha
kaḥ—who?; ayam—he; tu—indeed; rajakaḥ—the washerman; pūrvam—before; avadhīt—killed; yam—whom; hariḥ—Kṛṣṇa; katham—why?; ahaḥ—Oh; yasya—of whom; mahaj-jyotiḥ—the greqat light; kṛṣṇe—in Lord Kṛṣṇa; līnam—merged; babhūva—was; ha—certainly.
