ततः पञ्चजनो दैत्यो
योद्धुं श्री-कृष्ण-सम्मुखे
आगतः सहसा वीरः
शूलं चिक्षेप माधवे
tataḥ pañcajano daityo
yoddhuṃ śrī-kṛṣṇa-sammukhe
āgataḥ sahasā vīraḥ
śūlaṃ cikṣepa mādhave
tataḥ—then; pañcajanaḥ—Pancajana; daityaḥ—the demon; yoddhum—to fight; śrī-kṛṣṇa-sammukhe—facing Śrī Kṛṣṇa; āgataḥ—came; sahasā—at once; vīraḥ—ferocious; śūlam—a spear; cikṣepa—threw; mādhave—at Lord Kṛṣṇa.
English translation of verse 5.9.22:
Eager to fight, the ferocious demon Pañcajana at once came before Lord Kṛṣṇa and threw a spear at Him.
