The Garga-samhita Verse 5.8.40, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 5 of Chapter 8 (The Killing of Kamsa) of Canto 5 (mathura-khanda).

निःशस्त्रास् ते महा-वीरा
मुष्टिभिः सर्वतो बलम्
तेडुः शैलं यथा नागाः
शुण्डा-दण्डैर् इतस् ततः

niḥśastrās te mahā-vīrā
muṣṭibhiḥ sarvato balam
teḍuḥ śailaṃ yathā nāgāḥ
śuṇḍā-daṇḍair itas tataḥ

niḥśastrāḥ—unarmed; te—they; mahā-vīrāheroes; muṣṭibhiḥ—with fists; sarvataḥ—in all respects; balam—strength; teḍuḥ—hit; śailam—a mountain; yathā—as; nāgāḥelephants; śuṇḍā-daṇḍaiḥ—with their trunks; itaḥ—here; tataḥ—and there.

English translation of verse 5.8.40:

Now weaponless, the ferocious fighters attacked Lord Balarāma with their fists.

They were like many elephants whipping a great mountain with their trunks.
