इत्थं द्वयोर् निपातेन
निम्नं भू-खण्ड-मण्डलम्
स्थलीव सहसा राजन्
चकम्पे घटिका-द्वयम्

itthaṃ dvayor nipātena
nimnaṃ bhū-khaṇḍa-maṇḍalam
sthalīva sahasā rājan
cakampe ghaṭikā-dvayam

ittham—thus; dvayoḥ—of the two; nipātena—by the falling; nimnam—cracked; bhū-khaṇḍa-maṇḍalam—the circle of the earth; sthalīthe earth; iva—as if; sahasāsuddenly; rājanO king; cakampe—shook; ghaṭikā-dvayam—for an hour.

English translation of verse 5.8.33:

As the two of them fought the earth cracked. O king, for two hours the earth shook.
