The Garga-samhita Verse 5.8.18, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 5 of Chapter 8 (The Killing of Kamsa) of Canto 5 (mathura-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

स्वस्याजयं वीक्ष्य कंसो
महा-क्रोध-समाकुलः
वर्जयित्वा तूर्य-घोषं
प्राह प्रस्फुरिताधरः

svasyājayaṃ vīkṣya kaṃso
mahā-krodha-samākulaḥ
varjayitvā tūrya-ghoṣaṃ
prāha prasphuritādharaḥ

svasya—of his own men; ajayam—the defeat; vīkṣyaseeing; kaṃsaḥKaṃsa; mahā-krodha-samākulaḥovercome with anger; varjayitvā—stopping; turya-ghoṣam—the sound of the turyas; prāha—said; prasphurita—trembling; adharaḥ—lips.

English translation of verse 5.8.18:

Seeing his own men defeated, Kaṃsa will filled with anger. Stopping the tūrya drums, he spoke, his lips trembling.
