कंसं विना सर्व-मुखाज्
जय-शब्दो विनिर्गतः
साधु साध्व् इति वादो ऽभून्
नेदुर् दुन्दुभयस् ततः
kaṃsaṃ vinā sarva-mukhāj
jaya-śabdo vinirgataḥ
sādhu sādhv iti vādo 'bhūn
nedur dundubhayas tataḥ
kaṃsam—Kaṃsa; vinā—except for; sarva-mukhāt—from every mouth; jaya- śabdaḥ—the sound of Victory!"; vinirgataḥ—left; sādhu—well done; sādhv—well done; iti—thus; vādaḥ—the word; abhūt—was; neduḥ—sounded; dundubhaya—the dundubhis; tataḥ—then.
English translation of verse 5.8.17:
From every mouth, except Kaṃsa's, came the words Victory!" and "Bravo!
Bravo!" Then all the dundubhi drums sounded.
