The Garga-samhita Verse 5.8.17, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 5 of Chapter 8 (The Killing of Kamsa) of Canto 5 (mathura-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

कंसं विना सर्व-मुखाज्
जय-शब्दो विनिर्गतः
साधु साध्व् इति वादो ऽभून्
नेदुर् दुन्दुभयस् ततः

kaṃsaṃ vinā sarva-mukhāj
jaya-śabdo vinirgataḥ
sādhu sādhv iti vādo 'bhūn
nedur dundubhayas tataḥ

kaṃsam—Kaṃsa; vināexcept for; sarva-mukhāt—from every mouth; jaya- śabdaḥthe sound of Victory!"; vinirgataḥleft; sādhuwell done; sādhv—well done; iti—thus; vādaḥ—the word; abhūt—was; neduḥ—sounded; dundubhaya—the dundubhis; tataḥ—then.

English translation of verse 5.8.17:

From every mouth, except Kaṃsa's, came the words Victory!" and "Bravo!

Bravo!" Then all the dundubhi drums sounded.
