The Garga-samhita Verse 5.8.12, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 5 of Chapter 8 (The Killing of Kamsa) of Canto 5 (mathura-khanda).

गृहीत्वा तोशलं कृष्णो
मध्यतः सम्विदार्य च
प्राक्षिपत् कंस-मञ्चाग्रे
विटपं सिन्धुरो यथा

gṛhītvā tośalaṃ kṛṣṇo
madhyataḥ samvidārya ca
prākṣipat kaṃsa-mañcāgre
viṭapaṃ sindhuro yathā

gṛhītvāgrabbing; tośalam—Tosala; kṛṣṇaḥKṛṣṇa; madhyataḥ—in the middle; samvidārya—ripping; ca—and; prākṣipat—threw; kaṃsa-mañcāgre—into Kaṃsa's box; viṭapam—a tree; sindhuraḥ—an elephant; yathā—as.

English translation of verse 5.8.12:

Then Kṛṣṇa grabbed Tośala, ripped him in two at the waist, and threw the two pieces into Kaṃsa's box as an elephant breaks and throws a tree.
