चाणूर उवाच
हे राम हे कृष्ण युवां महा-बलौ
राज्ञः पुरो वै कुरुतं मृधं बलात्
प्रहर्षिते राजनि चेद् यदूत्तमे
किं किं न भद्रं भवतीह वश् च नः
cāṇūra uvāca
he rāma he kṛṣṇa yuvāṃ mahā-balau
rājñaḥ puro vai kurutaṃ mṛdhaṃ balāt
praharṣite rājani ced yadūttame
kiṃ kiṃ na bhadraṃ bhavatīha vaś ca naḥ
cāṇūra uvāca—Canura said; he—O; rāma—Balarāma; he—O; kṛṣṇa—Kṛṣṇa; yuvām—You both; mahā-balau—very powerful; rājñaḥ—of the king; puraḥ—in the presence; vai—indeed; kurutam—please do; mṛdham—a fight; balāt—powerfully; praharṣite—pleased; rājani—when the king; cet—if; yadūttame—the best of the Yādavas; kim—what?; kim—what?; na—not; bhadram—good thing; bhavati—will be; iha—here; vaś—of You; ca—and; naḥ—of us.
English translation of verse 5.7.42:
Cāṇūra said: O Balarāma, O Kṛṣṇa, You are both very strong. Please fight with us before the king. If King Kaṃsa is pleased what good thing will not come both to You and to us.
