तम् अन्वधावन् नागेन्द्रो
मथुरायां विदेह-राट्
कोलाहले तदा जाते
हरिस् तस्माद् इतो ययौ
tam anvadhāvan nāgendro
mathurāyāṃ videha-rāṭ
kolāhale tadā jāte
haris tasmād ito yayau
tam—Him; anvadhāvan—chasing; nāgendraḥ—the royal elephant; mathurāyām—in Mathurā; videha-rāṭ—O king of Videha; kolāhale—a tumult; tadā—then; jāte—was manifested; hariḥ—Kṛṣṇa; tasmāt—from it; itaḥ—here; yayau—went.
English translation of verse 5.7.24:
O king of Videha, when Kṛṣṇa fled and the elephant chased Him through Mathurā City, there was great uproar.
