The Garga-samhita Verse 5.6.24, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 5 of Chapter 6 (Seeing Shri Mathura) of Canto 5 (mathura-khanda).

Sanskrit text, transliteration and word-by-word meaning:

श्री-नारद उवाच
पप्रच्छ सु-स्मितो वैश्यान्
को-दण्ड-स्थानम् अच्युतः
न ते तम् ऊचुः सु-धियः
को-दण्डे भङ्ग-शङ्कया

śrī-nārada uvāca
papraccha su-smito vaiśyān
ko-daṇḍa-sthānam acyutaḥ
na te tam ūcuḥ su-dhiyaḥ
ko-daṇḍe bhaṅga-śaṅkayā

śrī-nārada uvāca—Śrī Nārada said; papraccha—asked; su-smitaḥsmiling; vaiśyān—the vaiśyas; ko-daṇḍaof the bow; sthānam—the place; acyutaḥ—Kṛṣṇa; na—not; te—they; tam—to Him; ūcuḥ—said; su-dhiyaḥintelligent; ko-daṇḍe—of the bow; bhaṅgabreaking; śaṅkayā—with the fear.

English translation of verse 5.6.24:

Śrī Nārada said: Sweetly smiling, the Lord asked where the great bow was kept.

Fearing the Lord would break it, the intelligent vaiśyas did not tell Him.
