The Garga-samhita Verse 5.5.28, English translation, including word-by-word: This text represents a Vaishnava scripture which narrates the life Krishna, It was composed in seventeen cantos by Garga Muni: an ancient sage and priest of the Yadu dynasty having. This is verse 5 of Chapter 5 (Shri Krishna’s Entrance Into Mathura) of Canto 5 (mathura-khanda).

श्रुत्वागतं तं वसुदेव-नन्दनं
बहुश्रुता वै मथुरा-पुराङ्गनाः
त्यक्त्वाथ कर्माणि विसृज्य ताः शिशून्
द्रष्टुं व्यधावन्न् उदधिं यथापगाः

śrutvāgataṃ taṃ vasudeva-nandanaṃ
bahuśrutā vai mathurā-purāṅganāḥ
tyaktvātha karmāṇi visṛjya tāḥ śiśūn
draṣṭuṃ vyadhāvann udadhiṃ yathāpagāḥ

śrutvāhearing; āgatam—arrived; tam—Him; vasudeva-nandanam—Vasudeva's son; bahuśrutā—learned; vai—indeed; mathurā-purāṅganāḥ—the women of Mathurā; tyaktvāleaving; athathen; karmāṇi—duties; visṛjyaleaving; tāḥ—they; śiśūn—children; draṣṭum—to see; vyadhāvan—running; udadhim—to the ocean; yathā—like; apagāḥ—rivers.

English translation of verse 5.5.28:

Hearing that Vasudeva's son had come, the learned women of Mathurā at once left their children and all their household duties and ran to see Kṛṣṇa as rivers run into the ocean.
