अक्रूरस्य रथं राजन्
निजघ्नुर् यष्टिभिर् भृशाम्
अश्वांस् तथा सारथिं च
भगवद्-विरहातुराः

akrūrasya rathaṃ rājan
nijaghnur yaṣṭibhir bhṛśām
aśvāṃs tathā sārathiṃ ca
bhagavad-virahāturāḥ

akrūrasya—of Akrūra; ratham—the chariot; rājanO king; nijaghnuḥ—hit; yaṣṭibhiḥ—with sticks; bhṛśām—greatly; aśvān—the horses; tathā—so; sārathim—the charioteer; ca—and; bhagavad-virahāturāḥ—distraught with separation from the Lord.

English translation of verse 5.4.31:

O king, anguished by their imminent separation from the Lord, with sticks the gopīs whipped Akrūra's chariot, horses, and chariot driver.
